Alexandra Herrera, O.D.

Dr. Alexandra Herrera is a full scope optometrist with seven years of experience in the treatment and management of ocular disease with an emphasis in cataract surgery co-management and dry eye disease. She graduated magna cum laude from Marist College with a degree in Biomedical Science and earned her doctorate degree at SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Herrera was a recipient of the Hudson Valley Optometric Society scholarship during her studies at SUNY and became a member of the society upon graduating. As a Hudson Valley native, she credits her internship at Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point as the highlight of her clinical training experience.

Dr. Herrera values patient education and the importance of doctor-patient communication. As a Marist alumna, she gives back to her college community by giving lectures to aspiring pre-med students on the profession of optometry and the correlation between eye and overall health. In her free time, Dr. Herrera is an avid runner. She has completed 11 half marathons (and counting) and one full marathon (one was enough).
